Prehistoric scale.
Modern parking.

Jurassic Parking is the operating system that runs the world's busiest lots, garages, and curbs. From a single suburban garage to a 75,000-seat stadium on game day, our platform ingests every plate, every transaction, and every sensor in real time — so operators see everything, drivers wait for nothing, and revenue never leaks.

Who we are

We treat parking like the
billion-dollar logistics problem it is.

For most of the last century, parking was a clipboard, a kiosk, and a guess. Operators had no idea how full a level was at 4:47 PM, no way to know if the LPR camera at Lane 3 was even online, and no path to push a price change before a concert let out. Jurassic Parking was founded by a team of operators, software engineers, and venue security veterans who lived that frustration — and decided to build a single platform that finally treats every car, space, and transaction as data.

Today our software runs on more than half a million lane-hours per month, processes billions of transactions, and powers everything from a 28-stall lot in downtown Bozeman to the 22,000-space ring around an NFL stadium. We do this with one product, one data model, and one obsession: getting drivers in and out faster than they thought was possible.

  • Founded 2014 in San Francisco, California
  • 340 employees across engineering, deployment, and 24/7 ops
  • One product, one data model, one operating philosophy
  • ADA-compliant deployments with privacy controls in every region we operate

Solutions

One platform. Every parking surface you operate.

Most operators stitch together five vendors to run a single garage — one for cameras, one for gates, one for payments, one for permits, one for reporting. Jurassic Parking replaces all five with a single cloud-native platform and a single API. Mix and match the modules below; everything talks to everything else by default.

License plate recognition camera
Module 01

License Plate Recognition

Our 4K computer-vision cameras read plates at up to 65 mph in any weather, in any light, in 38 jurisdictions — including stacked, dirty, and partially obscured plates. Reads are matched against permits, reservations, watchlists, and stored payment instruments in under 180 milliseconds. The result: drivers don't stop at the gate. They don't even slow down.

  • 99.4% read accuracy in independent testing
  • Edge-processed — works through internet outages
  • Plate, vehicle make, color, and class detected on every pass
Gateless entry lane
Module 02

Gateless Entry & Exit

Replace mechanical arms with a frictionless overhead canopy. Drivers enter as if the garage isn't there. Throughput jumps 4-7×, hardware failures drop to nearly zero, and you stop paying technicians to splice gate motors at 2 AM.

Mobile parking app
Module 03

Driver Mobile App

Reserve, pay, navigate, and validate from a single white-labeled app — or embed the SDK into your existing venue app. Apple Pay and Google Pay supported by default. 60-second account-less guest flow for first-time visitors.

EV charging stations
Module 04

EV Charging Integration

Native integration with ChargePoint, EVgo, Tesla, Blink, and any OCPP 1.6+ network. Bill parking and charging on a single transaction. Reserve a charger from the app. Auto-throttle pricing when grid demand spikes.

Dynamic pricing analytics dashboard
Module 05

Dynamic Pricing & Yield Management

Most operators set rates once and revisit them annually. Jurassic Parking's yield engine prices every space the way an airline prices every seat: continuously, based on real-time demand, weather, the calendar of nearby events, historical occupancy curves, and your own revenue targets. Operators using dynamic pricing see a 14-23% revenue lift in the first 90 days — without raising headline rates for regulars or violating municipal caps.

+18.6% avg. revenue lift
3-min price-update cadence
240+ demand signals modeled
Permit and validation kiosk
Module 06

Permits & Validation

Issue, revoke, and audit employee, tenant, contractor, and vendor permits in bulk. Validate visitors with one-tap codes, QR, or merchant-side webhook. No more booklets of paper coupons.

Valet attendant at hotel porte-cochere
Module 07

Valet & Fleet Operations

Run a 12-attendant valet stand or a 600-vehicle fleet depot from the same app. Vehicle photos, key tracking, damage logging, and SLA timers built in. Used by six major resort chains and three OEM auto-makers.

Parking enforcement officer
Module 08

Enforcement & Loss Prevention

Plate-driven enforcement, watchlist alerts, and integrated body-cam workflow for parking ambassadors. Built by veterans of stadium loss-prevention programs — designed to de-escalate, not provoke.

The Platform

The Jurassic Cloud — every camera, gate, and dollar in one pane.

Underneath every Jurassic Parking module is a single cloud-native platform: an event-streaming spine that ingests every plate read, every gate cycle, every payment, every sensor heartbeat across your portfolio in real time. Operators get one dashboard. Engineers get one API. Finance gets one ledger.

Operations dashboard
01

Real-Time Operations Console

Live occupancy heatmaps, lane health, alarm queue, and revenue waterfall — refreshed every 1.5 seconds. Drag any panel into any layout; save dashboards per role.

AI forecasting visualization
02

Forecasting & AI

A demand model trained on 2.1 billion transactions predicts next-hour occupancy within ±3.4% — accurate enough to staff valet stands, pre-position shuttles, and publish public availability without lying to drivers.

API and webhooks visualization
03

Open API & Webhooks

Every event, transaction, and entity is available over a documented REST and streaming API. Webhooks for 60+ event types. SDKs in TypeScript, Python, Swift, Kotlin, and .NET.

Finance reconciliation dashboard
04

Finance & Reconciliation

Daily bank-grade close, automatic three-way reconciliation between gate events, processor settlement, and your GL. NetSuite, Workday, Sage Intacct, and QuickBooks connectors out of the box.

Compliance and security imagery
05

Privacy & Data Governance

GDPR, CCPA, and city-specific data-retention policies enforced at the platform layer. Every plate read is hashed, region-locked, and auto-purged on schedule — with full DPAs and signed retention contracts standard.

Edge bridge hardware
06

Hardware-Agnostic

Already have Genetec cameras, HUB Parking gates, or TIBA payment kiosks? Keep them. Our Edge Bridge speaks 40+ industry protocols so you can migrate one lane at a time instead of bulldozing everything you own.

The parking technology stack

Every layer of modern parking, in one taxonomy.

Parking is no longer a concrete box with a coin slot. It is an eight-layer technology stack — sensing, access, payment, guidance, enforcement, energy, software, and physical automation — and operators who treat it that way win on throughput, compliance, and revenue. Below is the full landscape, and where Jurassic Parking sits in each layer.

01

Detection & Sensing

How a space, a vehicle, or a plate becomes a data point.

Ultrasonic parking sensors mounted to a garage ceiling

Ultrasonic bay sensors

Ceiling-mounted sensors with red/green LEDs, ideal for indoor garages. Per-space resolution, low cost, easy to replace.

Camera-based occupancy

Single overhead camera covers 6–10 spaces with computer vision. Captures plate, color, dwell time — and supports “find my car.”

License Plate Recognition (LPR / ANPR)

AI-powered cameras read plates at entry, exit, and on patrol. The plate itself becomes the credential — no ticket, no card, no app required.

In-ground magnetometers

Battery-powered pucks embedded in pavement. Best for surface lots, on-street, and zones where overhead mounting is impossible.

Inductive ground loops

The classic vehicle-presence detector at gates and signal intersections. Cheap, reliable, but blind to plate, identity, or class.

Radar & LiDAR

Wide-area vehicle detection that works in fog, rain, snow, and total darkness. Used at high-volume entrances and for autonomous-vehicle interfaces.

Weight & piezo sensors

Class vehicles by axle and weight — critical for truck-only loading zones, oversize lots, and toll-class parking.

RFID & UHF tag reading

Long-range windshield tags read at up to 30 ft. Enables non-stop entry for monthlies, fleets, and government vehicles.

Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)

Phone or beacon broadcasts a credential as the driver approaches. The fastest-growing access category in the industry.

02

Access Control & Gates

The hardware that decides who gets in, and how fast.

Barrier gate raising at a garage entrance with overhead RFID reader

Barrier (boom) gates

The industry standard. Modern arms cycle in under a second, fail-safe open on power loss, and integrate with every credential type below.

Gateless LPR entry

No arm, no ticket. Cameras read the plate, the cloud authorizes, and the driver never stops. Throughput rises 2–3× vs. ticket-based gates.

Rising bollards & wedges

For sensitive sites — government, embassy, stadium back-of-house — where you need to physically stop a hostile vehicle, not just deny it.

Ticket dispensers

Paper tickets are dying but not dead. Still required for transient parking in many jurisdictions and a fallback for cloud outages.

Proximity card & fob

HID, MIFARE, DESFire. The legacy standard for monthly parkers — still everywhere, increasingly issued as a mobile credential.

Mobile credentials

Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, native apps, BLE, NFC, and QR. One phone replaces the fob, the validation stamp, and the paper ticket.

Video intercom

Two-way audio + video at every gate, routed to a 24/7 ops center. Solves the lost-ticket, dead-battery, and visitor cases without a site visit.

Keypad & PIN entry

Single-use codes for visitors, contractors, and short-term rentals. Issued and revoked from the cloud — no lock changes, no spare fobs.

03

Payment & Revenue Control

Where the money moves — and where most operators leak it.

Pay-on-foot kiosk with contactless tap-to-pay reader

Pay-on-foot (POF)

Driver pays at a kiosk before returning to the vehicle. Reduces exit-lane queueing to a tap-and-go barcode scan.

Pay-in-lane (PIL)

Driver pays at the exit gate. Cheaper to deploy but slower at peak — best for low-volume venues and overflow lots.

Pay-by-plate

Plate is the receipt. Drivers enter their plate at a kiosk or in-app and never have to remember a space number. The dominant model in modern cities.

Pay-by-space

Driver enters the numbered space. Simpler signage, but every layout change means repainting. Fading fast in favor of pay-by-plate.

Mobile pay & text-to-pay

Native apps and SMS short codes. The driver pays from the front seat — no walk to a meter, no coin hunt, no steering-wheel paper receipts.

Single- & multi-space meters

From the 1935 coin meter to the modern solar-powered pay station. Still the backbone of on-street revenue for most cities.

Contactless EMV & wallets

Tap-to-pay with Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay. PCI-tokenized at the reader so the cardholder data never touches the operator.

Validation systems

Merchant validates a customer's parking via stamp, code, scan, or API. Modernized as digital validation tied to a plate or session.

Account-based ticketing (ABT)

The transit-industry pattern, applied to parking: the credential identifies an account; pricing, eligibility, and discounts are computed in the cloud.

04

Guidance & Wayfinding

Cutting cruising and lost-driver friction inside the facility.

Variable message sign and bay-level LED indicators in a garage

Bay-level red/green indicators

The single most effective driver-experience upgrade. Red means taken, green means available, blue means accessible — visible from 60 ft away.

Variable Message Signs (VMS)

Programmable LED counts at every entrance and decision point. Tell drivers exactly how many spaces are left on each level before they commit.

Dynamic Message Signs (DMS)

Curbside and roadway signs that route arriving drivers to garages with capacity — the on-street version of in-garage guidance.

In-app turn-by-turn

Driver opens the operator's app and gets directed to a reserved or recommended space. Closes the loop with paid mobile reservations.

Find-my-car

Camera- or sensor-based system records where every plate parked. Driver searches their plate at a kiosk and gets routing back.

Painted & physical wayfinding

Color-coded levels, animal/letter zones, ground graphics, and overhead signage. The non-digital layer that still does most of the work.

3rd-party data feeds

Real-time space counts published to Google Maps, Apple Maps, Waze, and city open-data portals so drivers see availability before they arrive.

05

Enforcement

Catching violations without doubling the patrol fleet.

Vehicle-mounted ALPR enforcement SUV at night

Vehicle-mounted ALPR

Roof-mounted cameras scan thousands of plates per shift at speeds over 60 km/h — the modern replacement for tire chalk and per-space inspection.

Fixed-camera digital chalking

Pole- or pillar-mounted cameras track per-vehicle dwell time inside a time-limited zone. Hands-off enforcement, time-stamped photo evidence.

Handheld ticketing devices

Rugged tablets with integrated printer, camera, and LPR. Officers issue, photograph, and transmit citations from the field in seconds.

Valve-stem mapping

Computer-vision technique that identifies a vehicle by its tire-valve position when the plate is obscured — prevents the "cover the plate" cheat.

Hot-list & scofflaw matching

Plates checked in real time against unpaid-citation, stolen-vehicle, and AMBER alert lists. Officers get an audible alert at the gate or on patrol.

Immobilization (boots)

Self-release smart boots that the driver pays for in-app and removes themselves — no impound, no overnight tow truck, no officer return trip.

Automated citation issuance

For the most repetitive violations (street-cleaning, expired meter, no-payment) the platform issues, photographs, and mails the ticket without a human.

Evidence packaging

Court-ready bundles — timestamped photos, GPS, environmental conditions, audit trail — generated automatically and exported via SFTP or API.

06

EV & Energy Integration

The garage is the new fueling station. Treat it like one.

Row of EV chargers in a parking garage at night

Level 2 AC charging

The destination-charging workhorse. 7–19 kW per port, suitable for dwell times over 90 minutes — offices, hotels, residential, retail.

DC fast charging

50–350 kW for short stays. Requires deliberate site engineering: utility upgrade, transformer space, dynamic load management.

OCPP & OCPI integrations

Open standards that let parking software talk to any charger and any roaming network — no vendor lock-in, no two-app driver experience.

Parking-linked charging

Session, payment, and entitlements bind to one identity — the plate. Driver pays once for both time and energy; operator settles in one ledger.

Idle & blocking fees

Automated overstay charges once charging completes. Frees up scarce charge ports without requiring a human to walk them.

Dynamic load management

The platform throttles individual ports in real time to stay under the site's electrical capacity — doubling deployable charger count without a service upgrade.

Solar & storage integration

Rooftop PV and battery banks feed both the grid-tied chargers and the building — turning the garage roof from dead asset into revenue.

07

Software & Data Layer

Where the operator actually runs the business.

Parking operations dashboard showing occupancy and pricing analytics

Central management platform

One console for every site, every device, every transaction. The control surface that replaces ten vendor portals and a spreadsheet.

Dynamic pricing engines

Rates adjust by hour, demand, event, weather, and competitor occupancy. Properly tuned, dynamic pricing alone delivers double-digit revenue lift.

Real-time occupancy & heatmaps

Live availability across the portfolio with hour-by-hour heatmaps. Surfaces underutilized aisles, over-saturated levels, and pricing opportunities.

Revenue dashboards & forecasting

Gross, net, projected, and variance analytics down to the lane. Closes the gap between operations data and the GL.

Reservations & pre-booking

Drivers buy a guaranteed space hours or weeks in advance. Operator pre-collects revenue and uses inventory data to price intelligently.

Permit & subscription management

Monthlies, residents, employees, contractors, fleets. Plate-based, self-service, with automated renewal, dunning, and revocation.

Valet operations software

Ticketless valet via SMS or QR, vehicle photos for damage protection, retrieval requests from the room or lounge, and per-driver performance analytics.

Open API & webhooks

REST and event APIs for ERP, CRM, building access, hotel PMS, ticketing, and ride-share platforms. Parking stops being a data island.

Edge bridge & offline mode

On-prem hardware that keeps every lane operating during a cloud outage — reads plates, accepts cards, queues transactions for replay.

AI anomaly detection

Models flag tailgating, validation abuse, gate-arm break-throughs, and unusual revenue patterns the moment they happen — not at month-end close.

08

Physical Automation (APS)

When the building can't grow, the parking has to fold itself.

Multi-level mechanical parking system with cars on lifts

Mechanical stackers

Two- to four-level platforms that lift cars vertically. The lowest-cost density play; common in dealerships, hotels, and valet operations.

Puzzle parking systems

A grid of pallets that shift horizontally and vertically like a sliding puzzle. Doubles or triples capacity on irregular urban parcels.

Shuttle & rack systems

A robotic shuttle moves between aisles, lifting cars onto deep storage racks. Common in dense city center developments.

Rotary (carousel) parking

Cars rotate around a vertical axis in a tower footprint smaller than a single surface space. Iconic in Tokyo, increasingly common in US infill.

Fully automated robotic (AGV)

Driver leaves the car at a transfer cabin; an AGV takes it to deep, sealed storage with no human access. Sub-60-second retrieval, maximum density.

Connected-car & V2I

Cars themselves negotiate space, payment, and reservation via dedicated short-range communications — the bridge to autonomous valet parking.

FAQ

Questions operators ask before they sign.

How long does deployment take?

A typical single-site Professional deployment is live in 6 weeks from contract signature: 2 weeks of network/site survey, 2 weeks of camera and bridge install, 1 week of staff training, and 1 week of supervised cut-over. Enterprise multi-site deployments run 4-9 months depending on portfolio size and integrations. We've also done emergency 14-day cutovers for venues with failing legacy systems.

Do we need to replace our existing cameras and gates?

Almost never. Our Edge Bridge speaks 40+ industry protocols including Genetec, Milestone, Avigilon, HUB Parking, TIBA, Amano, T2, FlashParking, and Skidata. Most customers migrate one lane at a time over 3-12 months while keeping the rest of the garage running on legacy hardware.

How do you handle data privacy and plate retention?

Every plate read is hashed at the edge, encrypted in transit, and stored only as long as your jurisdiction's policy allows — configurable per site, per jurisdiction, and per use case. Plates linked to permits or active sessions are kept; transient reads are auto-purged on schedule. We are GDPR and CCPA aligned, operate under documented data-handling and retention policies per jurisdiction, and provide signed DPAs as a standard part of the contract.

What happens if your cloud goes down?

The Edge Bridge keeps every lane operating in offline mode for up to 96 hours. It will continue to read plates, accept stored-card payments, allow permit holders in, and queue every transaction for replay when connectivity returns. We have not taken a customer offline in our history; uptime over the trailing 12 months is 99.97%.

How does dynamic pricing comply with municipal rate caps?

The yield engine respects rate ceilings, daily maximums, validation programs, and jurisdiction-specific rules as hard constraints. Cities, universities, and hospitals can also force a flat-rate "ceremonial mode" for events where dynamic pricing would be politically unwise. Every price change is logged and exportable for FOIA or audit.

Do you process payments yourselves?

You bring your own payment processor, or use ours (Stripe by default; Adyen, Worldpay, and Elavon supported). We never sit between you and your settlement — your customers' money lands in your bank account, not ours. Our software fee is billed separately on standard SaaS terms.

What does support look like at 11 PM on a Saturday?

Professional and Enterprise customers get a 24×7 NOC with a 15-minute response SLA for Severity 1 incidents and a 4-hour response for Severity 2. Enterprise customers also get a named Customer Success Manager, a Slack Connect channel with our engineering team, and the ability to escalate directly to an on-call deployment engineer.

Can we self-host?

Yes — Enterprise customers can deploy a single-tenant instance in their own AWS, Azure, or GCP account. We've also done air-gapped deployments for federal and military installations. Single-tenant adds a roughly 18% premium and requires a minimum 12,000-space portfolio.
